COMPASS CORNER

Your Child’s New Report

Your child’s next CAT (Common Assessment Task) report will be available this Friday afternoon. This assessment task will be a reading and writing task focused on “Response from text”.  So log on to view your child’s learning and the teacher’s assessment and feedback. We cannot reiterate the importance of engaging with what your child is learning at school.

N.B. Grade 5 student CAT Reports will be available next Thursday due to NAPLAN testing this week.

We’ve got Apps!

Don’t forget that you can log on at any time. It’s even easier using the Compass Apps. The Compass mobile app allows you to view student work on a phone or tablet rather than having to use a computer. Much more convenient! Visit the Google Play or Apple App store and search for Compass School Manager.

The website can still be accessed at http://mildurawestps.vic.jdlf.com.au

NAPLAN

Our Year Three and Five Students worked hard and gave their best effort. We were proud of the students’ attitude to the testing and their resilience over the three days. An individual report on the students’ achievement will be provided to schools around the middle of term three.

Our School Self Evaluation & School Review

Great schools regularly evaluate their progress. They pause to reflect, undertaking a thorough analysis of the available data to reflect on how well the human, financial, physical and information resources of the school have been deployed to achieve the goals and priorities in the school’s strategic plan. Over the next 3 months we will be engaging in a great deal of reflection and evaluation. We will then have our School Review. The School Review is a 3 days process where many different stakeholders (parents/cares/staff/students/external school reviewer) will look very closely at our Self Evaluation and all aspects of our school. We will create a new Strategic Plan for the next 4 years.
