Grade 3 iPads

Students in Grade 3 will be receiving their iPad on Monday. If your child is bringing their own (BYOD) iPad, please send it with them every day starting next Monday.

Students leasing an iPad will need to attend a short information session outlining the iPad lease conditions. Students will be able to take home their iPads after the first payment is made and parents or carers have attended an information session and completed the lease forms.

 

 

iPad information sessions:
Wednesday 5th Feb 3:30 and 5:30pm
Thursday 6th Feb 3:30 and 5:30pm
Monday 10th Feb 3:30 and 5:30pm
It is not necessary to confirm your attendance.

 

Canteen News

The Canteen is back up and running for the 2020 school year

Our school Canteen is open - Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
Please place all orders by 9.00am the day of your order at the Canteen.
Menus are available from the front office

Breakfast Club

Breakfast Club will be available every Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday. All students are welcome to come along, and enjoy from a selection of Toast, Cereal, Fresh Fruit, Yoghurt, Smoothies and Milo. Breakfast Club is held in the foyer of the Canteen and runs from 8.30 – 8.45. The Breakfast club is free to all students

Safe and Happy Holidays

Your Child’s School Report

Next Wednesday your child will bring home his/her end of year report.

As you know, our teachers write reports regularly, throughout the year. These are in the form of a CAT (Common Assessment Task) which is online.

Every child who has been at West for the entire year should have received about 15 – 20 of these small reports. Because our system of student reporting is ongoing, and includes many small reports throughout the year, we do not write a large report midyear or at the end of the year.

Consequently your child’s report will include:

  • An indication where he/she is in accordance with the Victorian Curriculum (indicated by a black dot)
  • An indication on his/her Work Habits
  • The child’s written reflection
  • Areas for improvement
  • A curriculum overview from the Specialist teachers.
  • A hard copy of previous CATs
