At my house we have a above ground composted that me and my family look after so we give the Mildura tip a helping hand while we get the food scape from home and feed it to the worm and sometime we wet the worm farm to keep them cool.

When I was little I remembered that my nan use to have a worm farm and I remember that I use to watch the worms go up and eat it. I really would like to start a worm farm with my step family seeing how it improves our in invierment.

We should stop littering because imagine if you were going down to the river and you saw so much rubbish you wouldnt like to have a bad reputation for you or your town, it doesnt look nice or prettty. imagine walking down the street seeing rubbish! EWWW!

i think we hsould have more rubbish bins and recycling bins around town and down the river so we dont have lots of rubbish around!

Why We Should Clean Up Australia!

We need to clean up Australia fast! Imagine walking down the rubbish filled streets, how disgusting would that be! Its very simple to throw something in the bin, you first take your rubbish go over to the bin and just throw it in! THAT SIMPLE! We need to start getting into the habit and doing the right thing and throwing it in the bin. We don’t want to be in a rubbish filled country don’t we? That’s we need to clean up Australia.

Trip to Lake Ranfurly

On Thursday 45k went to Lake Ranfurly and we had to clean up the whole place and we found 3 syringes and we had to get rid of them. Littering is a very bad thing for the environment. We should never litter also syringes causes alot of bad things. Baby animals with their mother and father could touch a syringe and become extinct. Please do not litter.

Save our environment

I think people should not litter because it kills many animals and isn’t good for the plants and their growth. On Thursday I went on a class excursion and we found 5 syringes, 1 picnic basket and a couple of beer bottles. It wouldn’t be very nice to go out there and see all this rubbish so please help your environment. Atlanta Memery

An unusual find at Lake Ranfurly.

We need to keep our environment clean and healthy because otherwise our animals could become extinct. We found a picnic basket, knickers and a bitten dog collar. We also found like 10 syringes. We need to stop littering because if babies go with their parents to a river they could see a syringe and it would be really bad if the baby touches it. Thank you for reading and hopefully you learn how bad littering can be!

Terrible Litter bugs

My Neighbors are terrible at recycling scratch that they are terrible at putting things in the bin!???? Nearlly everyday my family pick up something new and put it in the bin!???? It could be a shapes packet, chip packet, sandwich and once I think we found a plastic bottle or something.???? It’s easy to recycle?? I watched a video about a prep who could recycle so I think year 4s and 5s can right???????? Feedback to my Neighbors maybe have an outside bin so you can throw your rubbish in the bin outside if you can’t be bothered to actully go inside and put your rubbish in the bin.????

Cockle Shell

DSC06534The Cockle Shell, also known as the Midden Shell is an occupation site where Aboriginal people left the remains of their meals. At some sites deposits grew over generations of use of the same area after many years. Midden Shells are leftovers from some shellfish, bones, birds, fish and land and river animals used for food. Over the years the erosion of the sand makes the shells visible.

“On the 31st of August 2017 my class and I travelled down to Lake Ranfurly and I found a Midden Shell. I didn’t know what it was or what was it called, so I decided to research it and I was curious and now I know all about it.It is also a coincidence because this week in NAIDOC week.”IMG_3552

Dismantling the jump!

IMG_1732DSC06549

Shovels penetrating the rough ground pulling the dirt out of its place. We worked together making the jump a keep out zone to help revegetate the area. We planted some new seeds to stop people riding motor bikes or bikes up and down the slope.

Breaking down the jump

DSC06521DSC06549

With shovels and rakes attacking the jump we began breaking it down. The problem with the jump being there was that it was an inviting place for bike riders. When the bike riders went over the jump they were landing and killing some very special native vegetation. By the end of the trip the jump was no longer a jump it was a log in the middle of the track. We also sprinkled some seeds by raking the ground then spreading seeds and then raked the ground again. It was a great experience and I’m sure we all had fun.
